penny stamps.

Greetings wonderful people of the world wide web! We are nearing the end of January 2009, and I hope it's been a productive and positive first month of the new year for everyone. Lots of award shows, new episodes of television series and it's 80 degrees outside my air-conditioned house. Okay, that last one is a bit lame, but not unusual for Houston, Texas.

A few things: I never got to show off my new Calendar! An excellent find on etsy.com, naturally. 2009 is the year for organization, making lists and getting things done. 2009 is for remembering birthdays, sending post cards, traveling, making friends and memories. 2009 is the year I get a good job. (Which is why my new day-by-day calendar is so useful! So when I get the job, I can remember when I'm supposed to be there!)
On the news of the job front, I've been sending out a few resumes here and there, and I had an interview with LD Systems last week. The verdict of that event is still up in the air, but I am making optimism a rule during this venture. I am still wavering back and forth between live sound and the post production field, but as far as I can tell, that's just keeping all my options open. There isn't really a reason to feel the need to choose at this point. There are a couple other places I am looking into, but nothing definite, so I'll keep it ambiguous for now!

In other news, my little brother found this sleeping bag (found here)  in his latest issue of GamePro magazine, which he then thought to show me as a joke. My response to this incredible creation was, "Oh my gosh, does it only come in orange, or are there other colors?" I think he thought I would think it was stupid, but on the contrary, I think it's amazing. And I want one. It comes in red and a forest green as well. It can keep you warm in temperatures as low as 14 degrees fahrenheit. (Side note: I did not know that there were 2 h's and an a in the word fahrenheit, so when I typed it originally, spell check told me I was trying to spell the word "fright." Which I was not.) Anyway, the body bag (which i realize now is a bad name for it, so kudos to whoever caught that) comes in three different sizes, ranging from heights of 5'3" to 6'3".  I don't camp, but having this would be like a jumpsuit that never lets you get cold! I could fight wintery crime in this.

I am horridly behind on writing thank you notes (but they're coming! I swear!) and my technological correspondence has been lacking. I am about half way through the book "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee, and then afterwards, I'll be starting the first book in the Chronicles of Narnia series. My goal is to have this list read entirely by the end of 2010 (hey, there are a lot of books, and I'm not anticipating being unemployed for much longer.) I saw Revolutionary Road last night, and while I do attest to it's brilliance, I do not recommend seeing it with an already damaged mood. It's a very intense, sad movie. One of the best I have seen in a while, definitely, but be forewarned. In order to balance it all out, I am going to see Paul Blart: Mall Cop tonight with Alice.

Here we have my "I love you more than" statements from this website that Marina showed me! I think that people don't talk about love enough, and I can't get enough of it, so I had to join in on the festivities. Plus, it's always fun to see your thoughts mixed in with other people's. The first one is totally a Twilight reference, but the others are all me.

This is an etsy find, and i just love the simplicity of the statement. The artist had others that said, "Be You" or "Be Happy." This one is just funny, and if I ever have a glass shower door, I'm going to get it. Life can be too complicated, we all need simple reminders every once and a while.

Some artwork that Marina found for me on Etsy. I think there are obvious reasons I love this, and I really want to get it for my next apartment. Our brains get in the way with some things. There are choices in life that only a heart can make. Plus, I absolutely love the colors.

I guess that's all from me. This blog took all day, honestly. Hope everyone has a productive, excellent week, and I will be writing again soon!

I feel special on account of you mentioning me in this post. TWICE! sweet. But in all seriousness, this post was fantastic. One of my faves. It made me lol several times and also I can't get over that sleeping bag. That would be the best thing to have a pillow fight in. Protection!

Awesome post, friend!
